The 3DEXPERIENCE PLM platform integrates archiving, quality assurance, and information control into a single, unified, and highly collaborative environment.

Single Source of Truth

All product data — including archived documents, quality records, and controlled information — is stored in a centralized database, ensuring full consistency, traceability, and reliability across the product lifecycle.

Real-Time Collaboration

Roles such as Collaborative Industry Innovator and 3DSwym enable cross-functional teams to access archived data, manage quality issues, and control information in real time. This capability strongly supports distributed teams and global operations.

Scalability and Flexibility

The cloud-based architecture allows organizations to efficiently scale archiving and information control processes while maintaining the highest levels of security and quality assurance.

Configuration management, archiving, data accuracy, quality assurance, and information control — with full reusability throughout the product development process — are effectively implemented by integrating the following key concepts:

Variant and Configuration Management:

Configuration management enables us to effectively control both the commercial and technical aspects of products. Using this approach, we define standard templates for the engineering and product development processes that allow systems and production engineers to efficiently define product portfolios and their associated features. This ensures that market demands and specific customer requirements are accurately met.

The module provides powerful capabilities to compare different product configurations, analyze similarities and differences between variants, and significantly reduce unnecessary product diversity. This is achieved through the definition of variable features that serve as a flexible framework for creating and managing multiple product variants.

Bill of Materials (BOMs) Management:

We provide integrated management of Engineering Bill of Materials (EBOM), Manufacturing Bill of Materials (MBOM), and Service/Maintenance Bill of Materials (SBOM) across the entire organization on the PLM platform. This capability facilitates seamless interaction with other departments, particularly product engineering.

These activities ensure full BOM integration throughout the organization. As a result, departments such as supply chain, commercial, production, and others can directly utilize the real-time, up-to-date engineering BOMs. This eliminates the need for offline file exchanges between departments and creates a single, reliable source of information. All related records (engineering, procurement, financial, change management, archiving, etc.) are stored centrally and are visible to authorized personnel according to defined access levels.

Project Intellectual Property Management:

The IP Classification modules within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform enable structured protection of intellectual property for designs, projects, parts, and documents. Access rights for all stakeholders involved in the product lifecycle can be finely customized for each classification level and associated data.

Project Assurance and Quality Management:

This module supports comprehensive Project Issue and Risk Management, Supplier and Material Auditing, and Quality Management — including Problem Report handling by supply chain, contractors, and clients. Key capabilities include Integrated Non-Conformance Report (NCR) Management, Claims Management, Improvement Project definition and tracking, and full implementation of Continuous Improvement principles.

The Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Engineering Change Management modules are fully integrated within the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, ensuring compliance with global standards and driving sustained improvement.

Engineering Change Management:

Engineering changes are implemented within the PLM system in full compliance with international standards and best practices. The process begins when an authorized individual raises a change request for a document or process. The request undergoes validation and specialized workflow analysis. Upon approval, it is converted into a change order and routed to the responsible department for implementation.

Once changes are applied, a new version of the document is automatically generated and routed for approval. After final review and approval by the relevant department management, the original requester is automatically notified, along with all supporting documentation.
